Painting Genius

I continue to work on my “new” website called “Illustrated Encouragement” and the Lord keeps encouraging me to press forward in it even though the task seems so daunting at times. It’s tough for creative minds  who are easily distracted to tackle the wiles of WordPress, SEO, Cart66, Social Media Marketing, ect so for now I just continue to wait on the Lord and seek his wisdom. His timing is perfect. After all he is brilliant at everything he does. Just Genius!

Paint it!

Infinite wisdom…how would you paint it? How do you see it? What color would it be? For inspiration listen to  The Revelation Song by Kim Walker  It’s a great warm up entrance point into pondering in the heavenlies…

Back to School * A Genesis Thought..

Howdy Folks!~ This month has found me busy doing some networking on behalf of Illustrated Encouragement. Without indulging in the details I was able to network with professionals that have positions in social media marketing, wordpress, marketing, ect. I really am excited about re-thinking how I can approach the broader public with IE… but mainly with encouragement! Thought of the day: What if the Genesis 1 Power was released in this day and age? What would it look like? How would you illustrate it?

Empowering Declarations!

One of my favorite inspirations is James Goll. He wrote a wonderful newsletter this time around that I thought would be beneficial to post here in Art for the Glory. As we declare who we are, and really walk in it we can truly only then reflect Gods glory in our own creations. xoxo Lizabeth Anne

Empowering Declarations

With James W. Goll

This week in our Global Prayer Storm we will take these scripture based Empowering Declarations and each adapt and adopt them into our own lives. Periodically, I like to do something in our weekly prayer thrust that is more personal in nature. So here are some declarations I have written up with the help of some of my great friends.

Be Blessed to be a Blessing!   James W. Goll

Empowering Declarations

  1. I AM A LOVER OF GOD – My chief aim and goal of life is to worship God and to bring pleasure to Him.
  2. I AM A LOVER OF PEOPLE – I live to engage in the journey of learning to love where I expect nothing in return.
  3. I AM GENEROUS – I live to give as it is better to give than receive.
  4. I AM AN EMPOWERER – I live to help others fulfill their destinies, dreams, visions and desires.
  5. I AM FRUITFUL – As I abide in Christ, I am fruitful and bear much fruit in all I put my hands to.
  6. I AM RIGHTEOUS AND JUST  — I have received the gift of righteousness and I live to see God’s righteousness and justice fill the earth.
  7. I AM GREATLY FAVORED — I am highly favored by God and I live to brighten the lives of others.
  8. I AM BLESSED – Jesus came to give me abundant life and I here to share His blessed life with others.
  9. I AM FULL OF FAITH – I live to believe God’s promises are true and I am full of transforming faith.
  10. I AM A CREATOR OF REALMS AND ATMOSPHERES  – I live to fill the earth with Christ’s goodness, righteousness, and glory of God.

Thanks So Very Much!

A Great Light

This electric acyrlic was created during the 2010 Nashville Flood. As I was creating in my Nashville studio, and as the rain continued to pour down and the lightening crackled in the background, I felt as though perhaps I should have been building an ark at the time.

As for an interpretation of this painting it sits in the deeper places of each of our souls. I have outlined some questions for you the viewer to create your own definition and “take-away” if you will.A Great Light

Subtle Artistic Meanings:

Examine the tree. It is twisted and contorted. It is whipping around as the wind and rain pound down upon it. Its roots are blue, purple, black and brown. Its branches lean towards the left as if begging for an escape from the entire experience.

Ponder the people: There are three figures. Each individual has a different pose and reaction to what they are experiencing.  Each individual has a different amount of light near them. Is that significant? What must they be thinking? What must they be pondering? What would you be thinking in the same place?

Discover the Lightning: Look at this electrical storm! Examine the lines that comprise it. The lines converge near the tree forming a abstract shape. What is that shape? What is its meaning?

What are your thoughts? What does this mean to you.

May You

“May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gifts that you have received and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.”

Butterfly Process & Tree of Revelation: Completed Work

Its the epic tale untold. Like many ancient cultures who used caves to depict entire stories of their lives and battles this painting depicts a epic tale which I like to sum up the word, “Process”

Starting from the right you see the Tree of Revelation painted in blue for revelation and purple for royalty you can see an infant butterly army awaiting to be released from their holding spots ready for the day that the pink butterfly which is sitting on the right hand most limb that is shaped as a hand that is pointing to the window at the very left hand side of the painting.

There it is the day that the pink butterfly is waiting for. The day that it will go its way into the atmosphere. There it swings into motion up and around, whirling, twirling, circling.

As I painted this peice I always thought in the back of my mind that this peice was depicting different butterflies that were in different locations, different positions, in different swirls of color. However, after meditating on the peice I realized that this was indeed the same butterfly that started off from the tree limb shaped like a hand and finger pointing out.

Ultimately I realized that this very small fragile butterfly had changed colors, changed the different colored streaks that it left behind as it swirled, and progressed ultimately to the right hand corner of the painting- which is the most exciting.

The right hand corner of the painting depicts a window of an upgrade. Graham Cooke had a fantastic sermon on asking for upgrades in the natrual realm and spiritual realm. He challenged us as his audience to refuse sitting in the same rut, but continuing to press into the Lord for an “upgrade” a deeper revelation of who God is, what he is doing, how to pray what he is praying, how to move like he is moving, how to see like he sees.

Rooted & Grounded.

Rooted and Grounded is a pretty intense download about Christ in a mult faceted sybolic eye candy composition of a peice.

Rooted and Grounded in deep places, anchored in to the ground firmly where no wind no torrent can uproot her foundation.

Revelation: He plants his trees among deep and living waters.

Subltle Artistic Splashes:

1. The tree sits on a firm foundation and bleeds out of the initial series of roots that the tree sits upon just as Christ bled for us to set a firm foundation to build upon.

2.Examine the left side of the tree-it has been pierced and there is a gush of water flowing out of it- just like our precious Jesus was peirced on the side at Calvary.

3. The extensive root series goes down deep and hits a different section of color which represents different levels of maturity.

4. Look at the tree itself-its foliage is lit on fire. The outer ring of the foliage of the tree is flaming red and laden with cross hatching to represent the Crown of Thorns that was placed on his head.

5. Peer at the vibrant water that reflects the trees colors. See how the vibrant reflections pierce the darkness of the lake that would be there otherwise? See how he sets us with firm foundations to be a light unto the world.

Butterfly Whirl: Completed Work

The Lord was speaking to me about the different deaths that we suffer in life and the reality that they give birth to new life. This painting is based off a spectacular dream I had about going through life and understanding that we go from glory to glory

Subtle Artistic Elements & Meaning:

There are seven butterflies and there are seven cocoons. There are three background underpaintings (Blue, Green, and Yellow) depicting new life (blue), vibrant life (green) and THEE life (yellow). The movement in the background is supposed to be almost violent.

(Think about the whirlwind that Elijah was carried up in)

Lady Justice & Light

This piece of art is a reflection after reading in Proverbs about Wisdom Calling out. I was thinking about how I had read “The Shack” and how the description of Wisdom was as a judge.

Here is the series of questions that came to my mind:

If justice was personified what would it look like? What color would it wear? Does ”justice”  emit light or darkness? Is ”justice”  full of mercy or justice? Who is ”Justice” really and what is their role and assignment?

What would justice hold in its hand?

I thought to myself if wisdom can call out than why can’t justice?

Proverbs 1:20 “Wisdom calls aloud in the street, she raises her voice in the public squares..”How long will you simple ones love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge? If you had responded to my rebuke, I would have poured out my heart to you and made my thoughts known to you.”

What does Justice look like to you? Do we see true justice on the earth? How? When? Where?

Bloom: Completed

A young girl pours out all of who she is and all that she has in an act of worship watering a small flower. Although she may not see it and perhaps never will there is abundant fruit and blooms bursting forth in the spiritual realm. Thus entitled “Bloom”

Three verses came to mind as this peice came together:

Matthew 6:19 Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where theives break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where theives do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Luke 21: and He saw also a certain poor widow putting in two mites, So He said, “Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all; “for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God, but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood.
that she had.”

John 12:3  Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of
Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil.

What does this painting mean to you personally? Does it inspire you?
